WHO WE ARE
We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure.
Hebrews 6:19
Amazon Hope was founded in 2015 with a clear vision: to carry the Good News of the Kingdom—the hope found in Jesus Christ—to the forgotten and unreached peoples of the Amazon River. That vision remains unchanged today.
Amazon Hope is a nonprofit mission organization that partners with Brazilian churches and established ministries to proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ throughout the Amazon River Basin. More than four million people live along the river and its tributaries, and an estimated 33,000 villages remain unreached, many having never heard the Gospel.
Through short-term mission opportunities, Amazon Hope mobilizes believers from all walks of life to serve among the peoples of the Amazon. As teams build relationships within these communities, doors are opened to share the love and truth of Jesus Christ.
At Amazon Hope, we seek to be the hands and feet of Jesus. In Matthew 25, Jesus teaches, “For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me, I was naked and you clothed me, I was sick and you visited me, I was in prison and you came to me” (Matthew 25:35–36). We take His words seriously, understanding that sharing the hope of Jesus means loving people as He loves them—caring for the whole person and meeting them where they are.
In partnership with local churches, Amazon Hope provides dental and eye care, along with clothing, hygiene supplies, fishing equipment, and food. Every service and item is offered with dignity and made available to every family in every village we serve.
Whether through praying, going, giving, or sending, we invite you to join us in this work. May God’s will be done on the Amazon as it is in heaven.
